Where Manganese Steel Blow Bars Excel
Impact crushers and hammer mills throw material against the blow bar at high velocity — a wear mechanism dominated by impact, not fine abrasion. Manganese Steel's work-hardening property makes it the right choice here: the impact itself progressively hardens the working surface, extending service life well beyond what a pre-hardened alloy could achieve under the same conditions without becoming brittle.

A Note on Alloy Selection
If your blow bars are wearing from fine, continuous abrasion rather than heavy impact — common in some secondary/tertiary stages with harder, more uniform feed — High Chrome Iron may actually be the better-suited alloy.
